| E39 M5 applying brakes ALONE!! NEED HELP.. Hello people...This happened last night: A friend of mine was driving his E39 M5 doing about 120KM on a bridge. Once he came down the bridge the brakes were applied by themselves and the car slowed down all the way to 60KM!!! HE DID NOT APPLY THE BRAKE PEDAL! What could this be?? Mind you the DSC was turned OFF. Possibilities we thougt of: 1) DSC is malfunctioning. 2) Brake rotors need resurfacing?? Though a very unlikely cause... 3) Brake master cylinder jammed and couldn't retract?? What could this be?? The car is about to be sold in 2 days and we don't want the new owner killed or something...

| The only thing I've experienced similar to this is from the caliper seizing, although it was not nearly enough to slow down the car.

| Brakes are stock.... The car is being checked for DSC failure, watch this space!

| Car's sold...Turned out it's the DSC unit. Donno if the new owner would change it or keep it as is.
