Weirdest stalling... opinions?

All right, gents (and or ladies),

My 540ia is running smoothly, no issues except following: I drive the car and when it is coming to a stop, it sometimes dies. It will start right up as if nothing happened, and seems to only happen in "D" or drive. If I manually shift it using 4-3-2 or just the sport mode, it doesnt happen. It also does not happen when the AC is on. So in short, no AC on and in drive conks it out. I had a service light come on, but disappeared when I turned on the AC.

Any ideas? I am thinking its electronic somewhere like a sensor or something.

I had this happen when my cats failed. I would hook up a scanner and see what codes come up.

Thanks James. I'll check em out. Havn't purchased a scanner yet, but it looks like it should be included with the BMW toolkit. How have you been and how's the car doing?

Well, for something that is supposed to be designed for European weather, my 540i does not like the Canberra cold....AT ALL. For the last week or so, when I come out to go to work in the morning, she needs a good 2mins of warm up before she will move anywhere....?

Should I up on the anti Freeze?
