Lol....

It's like a hybrid cross between an E46 series 2 and the new 7....

I cannot say that I like it, but hey, who says that it is going to really look like that anyway....

time to stick to the E36, E30 and E34 for life I say

I am not going to start baging other peoples cars and prefrences but the E39 stock (kitted up ones look a bit better)from a distance looks like a old honda civic, it does nothing for me at all. Thats why I have kept the E34 and I love the look. A bit out of date but it was one of the best looking cars in its day, and stil stands up pretty well some some new makes.
As for the new 5 and seven, I honestly think BMW has taken a chance and tried to produce a more distincive car than the other manufactures. They sure have succeded in doing that!! I like it all except the boot(it looks like the place an add should go on the back of a taxi), and of course all the blasted electronics they come with these days, its not as much fun!!
When it comes out officially we will all be able to see it is better perspective. Comes out end of this year 2002 doesn't it?

Those pictures must've been taken from a Honda dealership. Someone just changed the badging, don't believe your eyes. I know BMW would not produce such an ugly car. Oh wait, I've seen the new 7. I believe there is mention of this in the book of Revelations:

"The superior German Auto, BMW, will go forth and design ugly autos, straying from their wonderful past."

I think that part is right before the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

BEWARE.

Is BMW trying to help sell more Audi's? All audi has to do the with the next generation a6 is to not make it ugly and they will have the best looking car in the market.
I think the present e39 and e34 5ers are some of the best looking bimmers ever, and I just feel like bmw is trying to go after some unique style and it is just not working.

I am pretty sure BMW will follow the path of the new 745i with this new 5 series. For some reason, as the time goes by, their designs become more and more outrageous, rounded and absolutely without any character. You could never mistake e30 m3 for a civic or e38 740 for infinity...

Couldn't have put it better myself. Why mess (or mess-up) something if it isn't broke? Chris Bangle

Nice! It is cool to see that the E34 still has such obviously strong support! It will always be about the E39 5er for me.
