| Canada E39 difference? I purchased a 97 540i that was an import from Canada. Was there any difference between them and cars for the US? Thanks fellow Bimmerheads!      |

| The differences are probably negligible except for possible emissions related equipment.

| Do the us versions have daytime running lights? I have them on as soon as I turn my key on. ugly yellow color too. |

| That is a setting you should be able to turn off at the dealer or an independent BMW mechanic. I just checked the Bentley manual and it did not make any mention of how to turn them off.
