Anyone installed aftermerket headunit..?

I have a 200 528i.I want to install a pioneer head unit.My local ICE dealer suggested a plastic faceplate meant for the purpose by a company called 'Metra' the item number is 99-9301.Its replaces the rado & the cassette face plate of the original.

Has anyone installed this or anything similar? The manual show that the new headunit would come on the top.If thats the case.Will the original flap be closable...?

I just want to check stuff before i buy it.

i have this faceplate...you wount be able to close the flap.but it looks OK.
