| You risk saftey by doing this, but some people have pressed in their NA bumpers so it looks more sleek. Search up "Lipoed E28" in google or something, that should give you an idea how it'd look. Also new euro bumpers are avaliable at the dealership, I think they're around $900 for a set.

| Do you mean remounting the bumper shocks further in the frame? THat would be a lot of work, and when you say remove all the rubber, do you mean removing the side bumper mouldings? That would leave a huge gap where the bumper ends, that wouldn't look too pretty. People have also removed the NA bumpers and not even put Euro ones on either. They just left it as is. Take a look, maybe this will satisfy you. This one obviously has a BBS airdam on it, but this is how the NA E28's look w/o bumpers ![]() How people have done the "lipo" is that they drilled holes into their bumper shocks (Decrease the pressure) and pressed them in. (Shocks are filled with oil or some sort of liquid) so be careful if you drill into the shocks.

| guys why exactly are US bumpers different? and why is it so unsafe if sQurly528e takes them off for euros? email an australian wrecker if u want, should be cheap and easy to ship. heres 2 from sydney (we dont have the gay USA bumpers ):www.asv.com.au/ and www.parramattaprestige.com.au/ |

| US bumpers are just more obtrusive. They have a 5mph crash resistance to them. Euro bumpers just dont have this protection. I'd rather have euro's over US any day. sQurly post some pics of your mods, I'm interested in how they look Keep us updated

| I drilled the stock shocks on the front bumper of my e30 and it does look a little sleeker. One ugly little part of it is the plastic moulding on the side of the bumper. It doesn't flow with the lines of the car as well, but not that noticeable. |

| Ya i am gonna break it down for all of you. U.S. bumpers are made for 5mph crashes (thus the shocks) While Euros are suppose to stand up to 3mph test( No shocks). If you lipo, in the event of a crash the shock will go strait to the frame and could possibly do more damage to the car. As euro bumpers go they cost about 1300-1500 by the time you order and ship the parts. You would need a euro valence and turns. The frame rails must be cut or swapped with euros to take on the bumpers. I don't know how experienced you are with mechanics and body work, or how deep your pockets are. So you may wanna consider a BMP kit from bmp if you just wanna loose the DBs. I would way you away from removing the bumpers and smoothing the holes as it looks horrid. If you haven't already go over to MyE28.com I am over there, and no offense it is more helpful than this site. |
