| from what I know, the offsets from E60 to E39 are different hence those wheels may not fit.

| Wrong. The offsets are not the problem, the hub diameter of the E39 is 74.1 and all others have 72.5, therefore the E60 wheel cannot fit on the E39 without machining the hub out.

| he's right, e39's have a 74.1mm hub and an offset of et20. the wheels would have to be machined to enlarge the hub, and then there s the offset.., easier to get wheels made for the car.

| The offset can and will vary depending on the width of the wheel. There is no "standard" offset for any car. It is easy to find wheels for an E39, you just have to know what is no-no and what is not. Basically, know your hub size, also know your offset should range from about 15mm to 25mm, again this will depend on the wheel size. Good luck.
