E34 M62B44 swap.

I'm thinking about doing this swap. I have the chance of buying a M62B44 from a E39 540. This is the first time I swap a motor in a BMW that's so diffferent from the orginal motor in the car, so I'm wandering what I need!

My car is an automatic M50B25TU '94.

I know I will need the engine, motor mounts, transmission, wiring harness in the engine bay and computer. Will I need a different dashboard?

Is there anything else I need?

From wht I hear if you get all the acsesories off a e34 530 540 the 4.4 will go in. I don't know if the tach will work the v8 cars have a lower redline than the I6 cars.

don`t do that, it's not so easy as you think, you'll also find, that you need to change main brake cilinder, cooling syst., houses and a lot of other details, if you want to make an engine swap, better find bigger 6cyl inline engine

Yes I went and looked seriously into what I needed and noticed that since it's a newer engine I need to completely change the electrical system in the hood and some in the car too. Would be a lot less trouble just going with the M60B40, but that's still a lot of work. Plus I missed the engine, someone else bought it before me.

But tell me one thing, why would I have to change the main brake cylinder?

PS. I', now looking for everything from a M5. 3.6 or 3.8!

look at picture to see where power depresion cilinder is placed, also main cylinder is there ( near to headlights on the left side)
