| E28 Owners... Help. I'm kinda new to the E28 world. I'm lost on where abouts i might pick up a body kit for the 5 series? the only ones i can find are the Racing Dynamics front air dam. :-\ not too impressed. im looking to buy suspension, bavauto exhaust, and a chip of some sort. which would you guys suggest? there are so many out there i wouldnt kno the difference... i know on e30's the Jim C chip was the best. i'm guessing the same rules apply? I've already put a "plasma booster" ignition system in with an AFE airfilter (high beam removed) what other upgrades would you suggest i get? it doesnt seem like theres much out there for an 88 535i. ebay's useless... i dont want to go to the extreme of turbos or anything. i just want to get a little more umph out of what i have. I've got a rebuilt engine and tranny as well. it runs really strong. i was really impressed by the bilstien shocks that came stock on it. if i upgrade my suspension with a coilover setup, would those shocks work alright? i had bilstiens on my e30 as aftermarket.... they kick ass!! anyway, thanks.

| What kind of E28? No matter what, www.mye28.com is probably a better place to ask these questions about your car.

As far as the questions you are asking, here are some simple answers. For a body kit, not many options there There is the stock front air dam that came on the US spec 535is/M5 cars....it is the one in my sig pic. They are a very durable urethene piece. They look pretty good and are easy to find in the 150-300 range + paint unless you find one that matches your cars paint already like I did. Don't bother with racing dynamics....that spoiler looks good, a little more aggressive than stock, but it is cheap fiberglass that will crack the first time you bump a curb/driveway/etc. The other option is to convert to euro spec bumpers and possibly even an M-Tech kit....they look the best, are made of urethene, and are euro! For just chrome euro bumpers you are looking at about $1200 for the bumpers and front valence, then you will probably want a front spoiler which will cost you about another 400 for something like a hartge, alpina, or maybe even one of the very rare BBS front spoilers. And a full M-tech kit (including euro bumpers) will probably run you about 2000-2500. I have the bavauto (actually B&B Tri-Flow) on my car.....it sounds great. I will tell you though that I have the loudest car out of any of my friends. Granted i have straight pipes and shoot 2 foot flames out my tailpipes in-between shifts. If you want something louder and more throaty than stock, go for it. I think there is still a video of my car on my cardomain page....that will give you an ok idea of what it might sound like..... As far as a chip goes, Jim C. all the way. Now for suspension.....if you want coil-overs, ground control is the ONLY option for an E28. Believe me, I have looked. right now, I am running bavarian auto sport lowering springs which I cut one coil off in the front, and koni yellow shocks. Ok, well I think that will get you started....check out the mye28.com forum, or hit me back and I will answer any more questions you might have.
