go for the 525i and swap in the S38 rev. 2

Thanks for all the input guys. I feel a 540 is not necessary for me, I'm sure it has plenty of power but when it comes to being a daily driver, the 535 sounds like a much smarter choice. I'm not having much luck finding one, however. I've seen about 8 nice E34's, but all were either 2.5L, automatic, or both. If anyone in the CT area knows where one is for sale, please fill me in. Black on black is obviously a first choice, and MUST be 5 speed.

I'm in the middle of purchasing a 1990 535i standard as I type this. The loan just got approved just waiting on the check to come now... It's green with beige interior. Prev. owner is a bimmerhead and car is in great shape, despite 162k miles. Once I get it over here I'll snap a few shots.
