Debaffled Airbox

I did a little research on some previous threads and decided to remove ALL the baffles on my 94 530 and my wifes 2000 528.
I can tell you that there is a noticeable difference. Both cars seem to have better throttle response and get the revs up faster.
I looked at all the twists and turns that the air has to take BEFORE it gets to the airbox of the 528, that will be my next project, some kind of ram air setup.
Right now the air enters just behind the bumper, next to the grill, the intake faces backwards, towards the rear of the car, then it travels along the bumper and makes a twist before it enters the airbox. Unbelievable. I know BMW did this for noise control, but, I haven't heard a difference unless I floor it.

You can debaffle a 5 series airbox? I thought only on a 3 series only?

You can debaffle just like the 3 series, same cone shaped inlets and outlets, just get the box out of the car, press in some tabs (you might actually have to break the tabs) pull out the retaining rings that are made of plastic and the horns will come out.
It only took me about 5 minutes, it actually took longer to get the airbox out of the car.
