Changing corners on E39 540i???

Has anybody ever changed corners on an E39 540i? If so was it hard, I am not sure if I should try doing it by myself or just have bmw do it for me? It looks like I would have to take the whole headlights out, or any esier way? Thanks!

Thanks, but that was done on his 1997 540iA, and it says that there are no guarantees that it will work for an E39 540i, mine is a 2002, Do you think that it will work?

If you have a 2002, then you have the latest version. There are a couple of plug and play options (i.e. from M3 Motorwerks - a vendor here). Other than that, the corners are, from what I understand incorporated and might require full replacement of the assembly and not just the corner/ring assembly itself, as in the pre-2001 headlights.
