anyone ever installed/seen rack & pinion steering in a e28

First I would like to say, Great site.
My steering box is worn & I have adjusted it tighter than I should have & I still have off center play in the steering. All the front end stuff is new, even got a urethane idler arm bushing. Ive seen it done w/ a s50 conversion(m3) engine swap, but never w/ the stock big six still in the car. My question is should I bite the bullet & get a reman steering box, or is it possible to put rack & pinion steering in a e28. thanks for any help/ideas
