engine problems

Hi,
I have a old 540 that is acting up first of all the check engine light comes on at idle. The engine cuts out briefly at 4500 rpm, one of the codes that comes up refers to the lamda systems. So far I checked all the vacuum hoses and the rubber bellos between the throddle body and air box what possibly could cause this problem.
