E39 M5 Exhaust on 540i - Question...

Ok, this exhaust obviously wasn't tuned for the 540i. Will it decrease performance? I'm looking into upgrading and E39 with the M aero kit and would like a dual exhaust.

Is there dual aftermarket that fits well? Will performace be lost by adding a M5 exhaust (due to tuning differences)?

no it won't fit unless your remove the spare tire well. I'm thinking of doing a dual setup myself and the only way it will fit is if you do a lot of modification... and that's just for any exhaust. The OEM 540 and M5 exhaust is HUGE

The closest thing you can get to an M5 exhaust without doing extensive modification is a single exhaust with quad pipes. I have this on my 98 540 sport and it looks almost the same. My exhast is made by Eisenmann. If you really want to get the true dual exhaust, I think Hamann makes one.
