| Yes you do. 500 miles you need to drive on them easy so the coating they put on them to preserve them can burn away. If you don't break them in properly they may never have proper traction or life. That's what i read on the tirerack, and heard from a mechanic friend of mine. Luckily i put my s03's on my car when i had 1200 miles, so i was still driving my car easy.

| In over 15 years in the automotive business, I have never had to "break-in" tires. Most tires sit on the shelf long enough for the "lubricants" to dissipate on their own. It's all liability mumbo jumbo. Just DRIVE and stop being a worry wart.

to yo mutha...i just got new tires too...they had the sticky label still on them when they installed them...so i broke it loose in the wet pavement a few...no more sticky label...broke in.
