newb hear, needing some general info

hey, im a newb to this site, and a newb to the dtm world, im used to acuras and hondas, although i have a wide general knowledge of both imports and domestics..with the exception of german cars... my friend has a late 80's alpina edition coupe that got me interested in bmws, its pretty damn fast although its never been run at the track... well i wanted to know if i could get some specs ont he 1987 325is, i read ina bmw magazine that they have right under 170 hp and like 162 lbs ft of torque, but i was wondering if any1 has stock 1/4 mile times, and how si the aftermarket support for them? also any other info would be appreciated, and is this a good starter car?

depending on price its probably a pretty good starter car. BMW is really really expensive for aftermarket parts.

If you get an E30 get the ///M3 - its a world of difference.

They dont cost that much right now - unless you are a poor student.. like myself.

My uncle had an 87 325is w/chip, intake, racing dynamics pedals/wing/RD rgs wheels, UUC Short Shifter /rob knob. Eibach upper front sway bar, and sport shocks. That was def a fun car to drive. but the e30 m3 is also a world of a difference.
