I scraped all the paint off my bumper going into a gas station, can they be liable?

I turned into a gas station tonight, and the transformation from the street to the gas station was a large hump. I went over it very slowly but it scraped most of the paint off my lower front bumper. Can they be held liable for the damage? I'm not one for doing this kind of shit, but it really pissed me off that this happened when i was simply going in for gas...

I would have lit the place on fire as i left. I hate that crap. Happens all the time. The worst was when I made it in the place but as I was leaving I bottomed out and was stuck for a couple minutes doing the whole teeter totter thing.

Does it matter if the car is stock suspension or not? Like the highway department would know anyway....how can I prove it so that they cant say "you cant prove you did that there"

I think they may not if your car is at lower suspension.

exactly, its not like a public building where you were forced to go, its your responsibily to look at the ramp and make sure its ok for your car to drive up before you turn into it, I never turn into a parking lot or anywhere else without making sure my car isn't going to scrape.

thank you princeE. The fact that you obviously knew it was a big hump means you took the liability for driving over it. If i slam my car into a telephone pole i don't hold the phone company liable for putting it there.

Yeah dude. Even if they COULD be held liable your car has been lowered and would probably have made it if it was stock... or at least thats what they would say. But don't worry about it cuz ITS ALL YOUR FAULT

Yeah man, hate to be an ass about it, but just cuz you didnt clear the bump doesnt make it their fault. I dont cry every time I bottom out on a speed bump. I just go slower and sideways

Call Judge Judy, dude! Sue their ass. 'M' 'F'-in BM eaters putting humps into road. I'd call the city and see if they have a permet for that hump. No humping permit, take everything they have and order then remove the hump with their teeth.
