just got a srt/4

well i didnt think i would ever get this damm thing but here it is... during the weekend i got offered for my 944, took it and made some $$$... then as my buddy and i shopped (he did go with a regular WRX (22.5k, he thought that was better then the 30k for sti))
as we go to a dodge dealership i get a good deal on the srt4 and i just took it..

well on the way to work this morning, i see an m5 and he is in the lane next to me and eventually comes up through traffic and starts to rev and pull forward fast... i dont have it broken in yet, so i couldnt really go for it (regardless- traffic everywhere) -- but its funny that an m5 already wanted to race.. i would have loved to get spanked by the m5, but also to see how the srt4 would even compete.... i'll get the damm thing broken in and find that guy again.....

I think it's a testament to Dodge that people are even giving the SRT-4 enough respect to even consider running it just to see how it fares.

They did a bang up job with that little rocket.

I cleaned the thread up to give it another chance at NOT becoming a pissing contest - I offer my most sincere congratulations on the new car, and wish you the best of luck with it. The SRT-4 is definitely a favorite of mine for the extreme value it offers.

THANKS.. i appreciate the comments (and the thread change).... i know its not a bimmer, but its the best bang for the buck (for a new car) and like i told some people-- at the next bimmer meets in norcal, anyone who wants to test drive it (to see that the thing is not bad at all) - i'll give em the keys

Cool dude. I've seen only one or two of those around, and they seem pretty nice. I was just wondering, is the interior as bad as i hear or is it decent or good? It'll be nice when you get it broken in to tell us how fast it really is =) I'd like to see one compared to a WRX, i think it'd be close but the SRT would come out ahead by a hair.

Do you have any plans for modifiying it?

The only real unfortunate part of that car is FF...I bet the STi and the Evo would still trash it on a track b/c of the 4WD...

I would really like to see a good comparison with the SRT-4 vs STi, Evo, R32, etc, etc...

the interior is ok.. the cd player seems to be integrated in a way that you cant just pop in a new one.. the worst thing is the shifter.. it will take a long time to get used to it, its sooo damm close (gearwise) and in neutral you cant move the shifter at all, just 1 cm in a circlular motion..

for mods, first thing would be suspension, but not right away, maybe a year or so (it seems fine as it is... gotta get used to FWD)

If you only have 20k, then you can only afford the SRT-4, therefore it's your only option. If you happen to be lucky enough to have 30k, then you can buy an SRT OR an Evo/STi/etc. I'm looking for purely performance information and impressions independent of price...

I'm guessing you made a mistake and thought he was challenging you. I would suspect that you are sensitized to potential bogey's due to your new purchase.
