| Dealership Problem Ok... lets go through the story. I got go to a dealership, it is a certain Mercedez, Porche, Audi dealer out here. I look around, and well nothing I am interested in. I talk to a guy, lets call him ... "Tony". Now... "Tony" seems like a nice guy, friendly, etc. etc. He writes down our home phone number to contact us if anything comes in. At the time, we were interested in '99 low 3 series w/ low miles. Then we drive out to a dealership specializing in GERMAN ONLY IMPORT CARS. They only sell cars financed through bmw. They have a 2000 328ci 5 speed w/ premium package in the back of the all-indoor garage. Wow... what a beaut! It was Topaz blue. We test drive it, parents love it, I love it. We decide to keep our eyes open, and the Topaz blue goes on the top of our list. Couple days go by and "Tony" calls us back, they have like a 97 323i or something... so we go in, and I see this on the sidelot, a 2000 328ci. So he grabs the keys, and we fire it up. Small test drive, same car, Cept it has nav system, sport package, h+k sound system. Same Mileage as the Topaz blue, same year, prices about the same... I decide this is the one I want. The used car manager comes and talks to us etc. Gets us to make a deal. Part of the deal was the car would have a small dent banged out by the front grill. "Tony" says the following: "Oh yeah, sure. That will only take a day." So we are like allright cool. The German Import only car place gives loners, and does the maitenece work themselves, so we ask this Mercedez dealer: "Can you offer us a free loner for when his (my) car is being serviced?" "Tony"'s reply:"Not a problem, we have some of the best service." So we make a deal, and buy the car on the spot. This was Saturday, May 24th. We ask if we should leave the car here to be serviced, and they tell us no, that we have to make an appointment. So we make the drop off appointment for Wed, May 28th. Mom takes the car in, no problem, no loner. Dealership says we can't recieve a lonercar because they don't service bmw's.... Am I wrong or did we get flat out lied to? So we are like, ok so it will be done Friday no big deal Friday rolls around, no call. We try contacting "Tony" and leave a message. Phone tag back and forth takes place... still no pickup time for the car. He calls and tells us that the car will not be ready on that day (Friday the 30th). I sort of sigh.... and am like, fine I can wait a few days until monday for my car. Monday (TODAY) rolls around, I have a 1/2 day of school because of exams. I get home and ask my mom what time we should pick the car up, she tells me she doesn't know. We call "Tony" again... phone tag time, so we leave him a message. He calls back in 1/2 an hour and leaves a message: "Hi, this is "Tony" from XXXXXXXXX, Calling about your BMW. Unfortunately, it will not be done today, but you can pick it up at 5pm tomorrow(Tuesday the 2nd), sorry for the inconvenience. My mom calls the dealership furious. Basicly, I feel we got flat out lied to. #1) A loner car should have been given to us, but they don't service bmw's, they sent it to a body shop. #2) "Tony" told us the car would take 1, yes ONE, day to repair the dent, it has taken SIX. #3) If we had known that there would be no lonercar, we would have bought the other Topaz Blue BMW from the German Auto Imports dealer. What are your thoughts on this, anything I can do? We are thinking about posting an article in the Washington Post, and possibly returning the car, if it is not too late.
