So the summer approaches, or is here technically, to me anyways being thats its June 1st!! Ok .. so my car took a beating this winter and I need advice from you guys on the cheapest effective routes to go about restoring it.
1) my damned right rear interior panel in my e36 coupe just wont stay on, ive tried many different adhesives and it always comes off. Right now its "on" but not laying flat, almost like its trying to peel itself off.. you can see the glue where the corner is raised, and im so fed up. My front interior panel that goes around the door handle area on the right is kinda coming off too, its already "bubbled" completely. Cheapest way to go about this? Should i take the pieces to some specialty shop or do i just have to get new ones? How much do these cost from the dealer?
2) some **** mustve kicked my car but theres a big ding on the front left panel near my wheel well .. looks like a perfect candidate for the "dent doctor", its classic shaped, -looks- like it would come out as advertised on tv. does this work? anyone tried it?
3) some of the black paint that frames my window on the back right side has come off and is rusted.. a small spot right below the window .. will touchup paint work on this? my car is black and i need to get some anyways for a scratch from some kid riding his bike into my car.
4) my auto shift knob is loose as hell, i can pull it right off and if i tighten it, it only stays tight for a day or two, i think the screw is stripped. I'd rather get a round normal looking knob.. ive seen the conversion done around here, you gotta saw off some of the shift bar etc? Would the bmw specialty shop down the road that works on just bmws do this conversion for me if i bought the parts? what parts are needed and where do you get em from?
Sorry i know its alot but.. i want to get my car back into shape. One last thing, i think i might have done one too many drifts or slides on stock suspension but when i turn my steering wheel to the left it makes this "creeking" noise.. and only when i turn it to the left.. any ideas whats makin the noise? im thinking suspension related..
