| I really have no way of responding to this. I dont want to be a jackass. But i guess you really dont see the joy of motoring if you cannot see the obvious advantage of manual over auto. |

| IMO, its entirely up to how much you're into "motoring". Lets be honest.. street racing is very random, often times there are added variables, its rarely works like a drag strip. Plus, alot of people don't even race as much because tickets are such a bitch, and the penalties in alot of states really suck for racing/reckless driving. Then youve got the traffic factor. Its really up to how much you enjoy driving manual. My auto is alright and i know a manual is faster and more fun, i still downshift my auto instead of just stomping it for that very same reason, i like to shift it. But i dont race much, dont do any kind of events.. my car is purely a street car, and the automatic just tips the scale for me. So just ask yourself what youd enjoy driving more in your day to day traffic, dont base it off of any kind of performance aspects. |

| yes im a sissy azz bitch if i had a manual my penis would instantly grow 3 inches. manual drivers that live in the city are more manly, they have bigger left feet and right arms from all that damn shifting and clutching light to light, stop n go bumper to bumper.. ![]() |

| Wow, great idea for a post. Wait, no. This topic has been beat to death. Do a search, or just realize that you already have your reasons for a manual, and what I or anyone else thinks is irrelevant. But, since you asked (hehehe), I prefer manual most of the time, primarily in cars that are fun to drive. I would not, however, want anything but an automatic transmission in an suv or mediocre car. For daily commuting, when you sit in rush hour traffic, I would prefer an auto as well, so I don't have to sit there with both feet modulating the clutch and gas for 30 minutes. So, I'm glad my M3 is manual, but I'm also glad the maxima and blazer are auto.

| Like all other auto vs manual threads, here's one of the conclusions: Manual tranny promotes drivers involvement. nuff said, if you don't know what that means, and its benefits, stay with an auto tranny. To me, the "I dive in city traffic, that's why I pick auto" is the lamest excuse. Practice makes perfect. Driving a manual should be second nature. I drive in NYC traffic everyday (even a 5 hr stop and go super jam going from Brooklyn to Westchester once), not once I get bothered by a manual tranny.
