Is there such a thing as Inline 8? Cause I6 is better then V6 so if there isnt a I8, would be possible for bmw to make it and put a maybe I8 in the new gen. M3's

comparing a V6 350Z opposed to I6m3, i would say the 350Z is better

You are mistaken, because the main problem for engine design is vibration. And the best design for minimal vibration is I6 and V12.
Then there is V6, B6, V8, I5, I4 and all the other configurations. I8 ->it wold be nightmare(long...), that is because they make V8.
It is to expensive to make such experiments.

Packards had "straight-8's" back in the day as well as some aircraft engines i believe, but the design has long since been abandoned. My guess would be from the deflection caused by vibration through such a long crankshaft.. simply isn't stable. though i think you'd have 90-degree exhaust pulsing so you wouldn't have the same problem that 4-bangers do with 180-degree pulsing. I may be wrong on that part though.. bottom line, very long crank = not good. Plus a V8 is a MUCH better design!
