well i finally tried to launch my car (98 m3) the other day, and i dont think im doing it right.

i've never launched any car before, nor have i been taught, but i just figured, rev up my rpm so i get my max torque (oh turn off asc) then just pop my clutch. i did this, i got shoved into my seat, but it felt like i fish tailed, in fact im almost 100% sure i did. if you guys have any tips, or comments, i would appreciate it.

differnet people do it different ways.

some rev it up to a certain RPM and just drop the clutch...

some people ride the clutch..

its whatever you feel you can do best...

im not sure exactly what RPMs to rev for an M3, since i dont own one yet.. but yeah... if you hit the right rpms.. just dropping the clutch will work.. if you rev too much you will get massive tire spin. if you rev too little you have a chance of nearly stalling out.

riding the clutch basically means you rev the RPMs high.. and slowly (well not slow.. but slower than just dropping it) release the clutch. this is not good for the clutch.. but neither is dropping it. you shoudl feel a very strong "pull" in the car while riding it.
i prefer this method.. but everyone is different. im not expert.. and i drive a slow.. shitty car... so once i am able to purchase my M3, my technique might change..

so just try different things.. different RPMs to drop the clutch from.. and if you find something that feels right.. go with it.
