Stick Vs Auto Which Is Better

FROM WHAT I KNOW AUTOS ARE USUALLY 1-2 SECS SLOWER THAT STANDARDS STOCK, BUT I HAVE HEARD A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN A CAR HAS A GOOD AMOUNT OF MODS AUTO IS FASTER. I WANT TO KNOW BECAUSE I AM GETTING MY NEXT CAR IN A MONTH OR SO AND I HAVE A 93 AUTO 325IS NOW. ALSO I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT A AUTO TRANNY CANNOT HANDLE THAT MUCH POWER COMPARED TO MANUAL.

auto would run more consistent times, but stick is so much more fun to drive

It is possible to modify an automatic car to the point where it will be faster that it's stock manual-transmission equivalent. Unfortunately, automatic transmissions are generally weaker than their manual siblings.

Agreed, I went from an auto 92 honda accord... to a 5 speed 2000 328ci.... I think manual is fun

lower case letters are your friends. Get a stick, not only does it shift faster than an auto, put more power down than an auto, it is also more fun to drive

The only reason I would recommend an auto is if you're one of those people who's constantly talking on a cell phone, communicating with passengers, eating, e.tc. while you drive.

if your lazy, ignorant, like to multi task while driving, or take no pride in your driving and want to drive to simply get from point A to pont B go for the auto.

But if you're cool , like driving, self satisfaction, and a feeling of pride go for the stick/manual/5-speed/standard.

auto is better for drag racing, manual is better for road races and you have alot more control or your car with a stick.

i plan on getting the stick, now i know why some say auto is better. i am hoping with my next to make it a project for the next couple of years. hopefully i will have that sc'er or tb'er.
