hey guys i was wonderin how much faster is m5 than a m3

actually the m3 is faster 0-60 4.8 M5 0-60 5.1

I stand corrected, I'm sure the faster one goes, the more the V-8 begins to shine. On the track however, I dont think the M5 could keep up. (and they tell me my m3 is heavy) Then again, I in my m3 cant show my 4 closest friends how well the car drives. Those 0-60 times are factory numbers, I didn't check the 1/4 mile.

I dont agree with all of those times coz an e46 m3 is faster than a c32 amg & i cant believe the m5 to be faster to 60mph than the m3,maybe after that yeah!

Now if you took the time to actually read what I wrote, you'll see I said 4.8 for the m3 and 5.1 for the m5. However, it appears that the m5 catches up (around 70-80mph?) and passes the m3 before the end of the 1/4 mi.

The M3 and M5 have different differentials. M3 being geared more toward acceleration, M5 more top end.

Like to see a run running similar diffs though

yea, 0-60 isnt the be all to end all test. i think 60-90 is a good measure, as it 30-50

yea the m5 and m3 are the same 0-60 tmes 4.8 the 1/4 are different the m5 is .2 seconds faster.
