e36 m3 rear light covers? clear but have amber bulb cover inside how do i get it out?

i purchased what i thought was red and clear rear tail lights. They came in and yes they are red and clear, BUT where the turn signal bulb goes there is a amber cover on the inside of the assembly defeating the purpose of the clear lense and the clear bulbs....

has anyone experienced this and know how to fix..??
