BMW M3 HP and speed Limitor

I heard that there was either a chip, or a govener that could be placed on a BMW that brought down the HP, or somehow got the car to perform lower, for safety reasons. Anyone got any ideas, or heard abotu this before?

yes, this is the regular software that comes wit the car...thats why you buy something like a dinan software replacement or a conforti chip when you get the car cuz otherwise its not as fun to drive

Well I'm lookign at a '95 Dakar M3, & it has a Dinan chip, so i was wondering how much umph it woudl add. The guy says 12 hp.

thats about right, but it also changes other things about the engine...It just overall performs better. Look at the Dinan website for more info. www.DinanBmw.com
