HID vs. Non HID photo

Just took this picture. Its my car next to my friends cavalier with his HIDs installed (5200k)

My bother just put HIDs on his car and when you next to some one it seems like they don't wvwn have their lights on ours are so bright.

It looks pretty good but I would never do HID"s without projectors. the way reflector housings are built they are made to lose light both at the top and bottom to light up road signs and such, and HID's are so darn bright you are blinding people with that light and also losing a significant amount of lighting due to the "throw light everywhere" design of such a housing. It looks bright as hell but its just throwing alot of light everywhere. A focused beam is much better A LA Projector Lense.

He had projectors in there, but they just didn't make it seem like he had HIDs. The light output was HORRIBLE. So we switched back to the stock headlights.

true, one way you can avoid blinding everyone with non-projector lights is aiming your headlights a bit lower and towards the road.

when you get flashing high beams from coming traffic, you know your aim is too high

actually, "when you get flashing high beams from coming traffic, you know your aim is too high"......that's when you hit them with the HID high beams and say, "Here's bright, bitch!" (HID foglights should already be on)

I believe they are Hella balasts. He bought them from some guy, it was like $390 for the kit for 9006's.
