well i heard about it a while ago and saw a pic about 6 months or so ago.. what got me was when i was looking through some thread about tire size on the e30, his web site had pics. if you go here:

http://www.m3e30.com/

and click on gallery, then go to

Herby M3 3,5L - the blue convertible one, look at the pics... the car in the yellow is an m5 or 5 series at least, but its convertible. you can see it on the first and last of the 4 pics.

since the 5 series only comes in a four door, it would be hard to turn it into a converible.

bmw has never made an M5 convertible. M3 convertible was/is available in the E36 and E46 body styles.

Well, if they do make the new 6 series, it will basically be a 2-door 5 series, and if they do the M6, there is no reason why they can't do an M6 convertable. They will probably have to do that to keep up with MB.

The rumor is a 500 HP V10 for the next M5, that would go in the M6 too. Anyone have an extra $90,000 for me?

There IS supposed to be an M6 convertible coming out, with 550BHP and a 5.5litre engine! The new 2004 M5 on the other hand, is expected to have 500BHP. Boths of these cars set to horse Mercedes's Brabus range! (cant wait to see how the 2004 alpina's perform!)

yea basically....There are convertible e39 5ers out there...however none of them came like that from munich. BMW never made a convertible for it...not even a concept..cuz it would probably look odd as shit and the e39 is a 4door sedan...not anything else. You could get the 7er in convertible if you want...its just a matter of money.
