Agreed. Does no one remember how crappy Audi really was during the eighties, like the stuck throttle scandal? and dont get me started on the audi 5000

I read somewhere that BMW is going to start putting Turbo's in their cars while everybody else is mostly dropping the turbo idea. 350z dropped it, Audi is dropping it. 3000gt stopped. Supra stopped.

BMW believes in "Naturally Aspirated" Engines. Now why the hell would they go and put in a turbo when everyone is dropping them? From a reliability standpoint, turbos are very costly. Overtime, turbos break and leak. This, of course, does not really hold true for superchargers. As for BMW getting beat in this past C/D comparo, what can I say. BMW is falling off the bandwagon. The new 7 series alone has pretty much determined the fate of BMW. Continuously, the MB S-class has been a stronger seller than the 745i. It will continue to do so until BMW get their act together for the 5 series and the next 3. However, judging from the new E60 shots, it will definately not sell as well as the new E-class. Sure the E60 may drive a little better than the E-class, but who would want to drive a car that looks like Pontiac Grand Am in the first place. You BMW lovers that have been saying that C/D is biased. Well C/D have always been biased towards BMW and you guys know it! BMW has always came up first in every comparo between Mercedes and Audi. I guess it just take you guys off that it's no longer no.1. I can safely say that all of you that have been raggin on Audi are not true car enthusiasts. True car enthusiasts love all kind of cars not because of a brand. Someone like that is called a brandwhore. I had a 325i and now own an Audi A4 so I can safely say that I am not biased because I have owned both. Now the question is will you BMW owners step back and look at the big picture. Let's just say that some of you guys here are willing to pick a BMW m5 over a Porsche 911 turbo just because you guys are brandwhores. That is all I have to say.

i like my bmws, but i'd never own a non-m one. same goes for audi; i'd never get an a4. my favorite driver of all time was the 1997 C4S that taught me to respect the road! other than that, i loved my friend's S4 and another friend's M5.

people who hate cars are gay. i want a 1990 5.0 mustang with a supercharger. ha.

as for c/d, they are gay too.

this thread is also gay.

For the record, the S4 and RS6 will both be available in the US in very similiar form as they are available in the United States.

Now for my opinion as an Audi driver...

The S4 is a 4 door sedan, the M3 is a coupe, what do you want, a coupe or sedan? If I had to carry people around sometimes or lived where it snowed often, the S4. If it was a car purely for pleasure then the M3.

The M5 and RS6 are hard cars for my to compare, the M5 is definitely the driver's car of the two with the 6spd tranny and RWD, but again... if I lived in an area with inclement weather I'd rather the RS6 because of Quattro.

That said... in my current place and current condition, I'd rather have an M5 over an RS6 and I'd rather an M3 over an S4. BUT, I would rather a new A4 1.8T over a BMW 330i.

Unfortunately, BMW is killing itself with bad designs whereas Audi has continued its classy style. The Z4 is an abomination, the new 7 series looks like ass, whereas the TT is a work of art and the new A8 looks magnificent, not ground breaking, but still beautiful. If BMW had the balls to release stock Turbo cars I'd start swinging their way if their designs improved as well. There is nothing like the ease of tunability of a stock-turbo car.

All from an Audi Driver.

Angry F*CK Car & Driver

Now this one really pisses me of!!!!!!!!

First of all who cares about the American car press? It SUUUUUUUUCKS!!!!!!!!!!
I would never waste my money on a subscription to Car&Driver.
Second MrPayne is on CRACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Third, Yes BMW sets the bar!
Fourth, Yes the RS6 will be available in the US. but only as a sedan, which is a wierd one to me, since this is the first RS to be produced as a sedan,RS2,RS4 were both wagons, and the RS6 is concidered a wagon in all European press, but with an available sedan, yes the RS6 wagon is a great car (kind of like a modern E34 M5 Tourring), but the sedan will never reach the same driving pleassure of a E39 M5, furthermore the E60 M5 will be out in about two years (2005),so we can expect that the RS6 will have a short lived production, Audi will then again take up the chase (the bar has been raised), and maybe in about 2009 they will have a so called M5 beater again.
Fifth, don't believe everything you read, especially in a DUMB magazine.

AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH I feel so much better now

Ps. I wonder what Biturbo M3 or M5 would be like??????????????????????????

Now the 6 series is it? the ones that look like grand am's....im still shady about that. Ill have to see more of it.

Audi isn't dropping the turbos.. The RS line has them. They decided against the S4 this time around because of the over modding and blown turbos. There was talk about the RS4 with the v6 turbo (That is comming to the states) but it is rumored to be having smaller turbos in its v8. Still don't know how they are going to fit that in there but it'll be way nice and way fast. Rs6 is in the States as we speak. Very few though.

Unhappy

Want a M3 it's called BRAND LOYALTY.
You say that true car enthusiasts do not care about a brand.
I would think a true car enthusiast would care more about how a car drives than how it looks, so in my opinion all 7 series and future 3 and 5 series drivers are the true car enthusiasts.
One last thing how does 911 Turbo and a M5 even compare, they are a world apart.

The RS6 will cost $82k. Who the hell want to spend that much for an Audi just to see the resale value go down to half in a couple of years.
