Question E36 body style getting old?

I was wondering what you guys think about the E36 body style. I sold my car, and am planning to purchase an E36 M3, but with the E46 out and all its curves and all the new cars coming out with the more curvy styling, Im afarid the body style is going to look too old. Its 11 years old already! Do you think in a few years the E36 M3 is goign to be thought as the E30 these days? I dont want to spend 20 G's on a car that is going to be out of style in a few years.

I consider the E30, and especially the E30 M3, to be an absolute classic design. I can only hope that the E36 and E36 M3 will weather the test of time half as well, although my inclination is that it will without any problem. Regardless of style, they will always drive and perform well with proper maintenence, and this is an area that some consider to be just as important as style.

when i was buying my car i was deciding between a newer E46 325/328ci and an E36 body style. The only way i would get the E36 is if it was an M3. The styling of the M3 looks mean and aggresive (not to mention a way better car) whereas if you aren't careful, the E46 can look feminine. except for the E46 M3 of course. you would have to be stupid to turn that down! just my opinion.....

Of course the e36 body style is getting old...and i have to admit when i see a 92 stock 325 driving around....it looks pretty beat (i'm talking about ones that aren't very well maintained). I don't think it will be thought of on the level the e30 m3 is, mainly b/c there are a lot more e36 m3's out there. But if it were me, i would go with the m3....who cares what other people think, do u think its old looking? I think the e36 is still an amazing looking car...

i happen to like the e36 body style better than the e46. Especially when they're slammed. I don't think it will be obsolete any time soon. If anything it'll be classic.

If you buy a car based on fashion... 20k probably isn't a lot of money to you. Buy what you think looks good, not others.

Thats stupid... I'm sure there is some sequestered corner of the internet that thinks your BMW is ****ing ugly... but does it affect you in any way? No.

Same theory applies to those with kitted imports.

Exactly, any great car is timeless. I think all generations of the M3 will not be thrown by the wayside.

the only thing that makes it look old to me is the fact of how beautiful the E46's are, they are flawless to me, i dont see a design **** up on them, and the E36 just looks kind of plain in comparasion.

i think the e36's are classic... it will be outdated according to the new way cars are going- the futuristic look-.. makes me want to stay with these older body styles... hopefully the e46 wont be the last decent looking 3 series

I think the E36 lines are perfect, evert time i look at mine i stop and stare.. I could care less about what other people think.. i bought the car to please me, not to please the onlooker i dont know.

I dont think the E36 will look 'old' for a while... maybe to some but not to me.

most of my girl friends said that my car is OLD and it's ready to go to junkyard ... I afraid that if I don't change my car soon, I cannot sleep with any one of them ...
