Opinion: Which Rims should i get?

I have finally narrowed the rim search down to two sets of rims. Please help me decide on which one will look better on my silver E36 M3. Both rims are gonna be Gunmetal with a polished lip.

The first kind(pictured below in this post) are 18"x8" with a 2"-2.5" polished lip. They are made by HP racing and cost $615 for the 4 shipped.

The second kind(pictured in the next post) are 18"x8.5" with a 3" polished lip. They are made by Merit Racing and cost $750 for the 4 not shipped.

This is based on whatever you want to base it on, but mostly looks. Thanks.

no, the group buy never went through, so Matt Howitt refunded everyone their cash. I however, really liked the rims, as they were some of the only rims i actually like on bimmers. Matt refused to do business with HP, but since i stuck by him through out the whole deal, and brought him additional outside business, he said as soon as HP gets the wheels in, he will get me a set for all the time i put into it.

i like the HP's... what do they weigh, and do they come in 4x100? thats cheap as hell if thats 4 for 6xx bucks, i would consider trying to get some in 16" for my volkswagen.

I don't know about other sizes really. That deal is also only through Howitt for me, and is a one time dealie. I know that www.wheelmax.com carries them, and they are still cheap as hell. I don't know if they come in 16 yet, they are a relitively new wheel. Try them though.

So the overall concensus is the HP's. Cool shit. those were my original favs, i just wanted to see what people thought of the other's cause i didn't really know if i liked them.

I personaly like the 2nd ones alot better. the 1st one has 2 many little wave spiky stuff in it for me

The "spikey" look is a very european look. I used to hate them until i owned and really got into bimmer's, and now i think spikey rims are the way to go. For instance, most people fav rim on a bimmer is the BBS LM because of the "spikes" it looks like a race car. Just my opinion.

they need to get a successful group buy on those things, for 615 shipped they could get a lot of business and references... too bad that last one went through, i was about to lay down my last grand on them and some new tires.

I like the second ones.... they'll look more natural when they're actually on the car than the top ones...
