But don't be discouraged if you stall alot. Just keep trying, and don't worry about slipping when you're first learning. You'll soon be shifting like a pro.
No offense man, but this guy (VANOSNinja) is a humanoid. He thinks he can take good photos by the crap he puts in his gallery, he seems to glorify drinking and driving, which in itself make him a moron. AND on top of all that, thinks he is ABOVE me by telling me wtf to do. **** that. Perhaps if he had more stability and a higher moral, not to mention clear ideals, then I would accept his judgment of my comment. Otherwise I'll not pay attention to his taunts.

This is coming from a guy that suggested that he controls the stick like he controls the dick. Also, what you just said has no relevance. How can you make judgements about him when you don't even know him? Lastly, language isn't your forte. Don't try to sound intelligent.

Because I have that instinct. The way I see it there are two types of people, humanoid and non-humaniod.

Sorry, but it is. And I am not trying to sound intelligent, but thanks for the compliment by thinking I was trying to sound that way.

I'm not going to argue with you, haha

EDIT: But I do want to add the predominate definition of humanoid: Having human characteristics or form. I have never heard that used a condescending word. I'll use it some time.

Cool, not trying to argue, just taking up for myself. Yeah, I got it out of a book I'm reading, where this guy calls this one kid a humanoid. It's a pretty hilarious paragraph. Most peeps don't even know what it means. Which in itself makes it fun to use.

Hey, what's w/ the gearing down to slow down? I've been told NOT to do this w/ the exception of braking when going into a turn...but to save your brake pads and rotors??? WTF...I would rather pay to replace my brake pads than pay to replace my tranny! My tranny is there to accelerate my car, not to assist in slowing it down.

Well, it was originally because I couldn't afford it any longer and that I wanted to save up for medical school. But the more I think about it, the more I feel I just want to get rid of it to focus on things that "should" be more important to me (e.g., my career, gf, saving for my future, etc.). I guess I just don't want to be distracted at all.

Hehe, that's what my mom says. But the thing that I mentioned to her is that it's not just about money to me. I'd rather check out a totally fixed up Hyundai Tiburon than a stock M3 (owning one is a totally different story though ). No doubt that the M3 costs more and is faster, but there's so much more work (i.e., time) spent on modifying the Tiburon.

Now, later on in life, sure, MAYBE I'd be able to buy a couple Audis, but I honestly don't think I'd have the time to do the stuff I did to my Audi now. I honestly felt like I spent 24/7 on that car. I know for a period of time I spent a good 5-6 hours/day for like two months on it. And then some.

Maybe after I retire. Who knows?

"Lets say your gonna come to a stop sign or something, or a red light, just push it in neutral and brake. " HHHHHHAHAHAHA where the hell did you learn to drive...

on the way up to any stop, you should always work your way down through most of the gears, altho never into first (excessive wear on 1st gear synchro)... you should NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER (get the point yet or should i keep going... i think 4 -5 more for emphasis) EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! be coasting in neutral... EVER!

allowing the engine to coast does nothing harmful to the car or transmission, your transmission is designed to take a certain load, in newtons, of acceleration... since the decelleration of "engine braking" is less then this, its well within the transmissions design capacities.

you gear down when you slow down so that you remain in the proper gear at all times, should a problem occur, you change your mind, or are on a track, the habit is already there, your in the right gear already, and power is there on demand... it may seem more difficult to learn, but its not really, there are a couple of advanced methods you need to learn first to properly master downshifting while braking, but first worry about learning how to start off and such, then BEFORE the bad habits are formed (coasting in neutral), look up "heel toe downshifts" on here and learn how to do that... i repeat tho do NOT bother with this until you are comfortable with the basics!
