Interested in a couple things I thought I'd get some input on.
First, I'm paying around $430/month for full coverage with a 500/1000 deductible on a '99 328is. It seems outrageous to me and other people have voiced the same thoughts. My problem is, I don't have a ton of flexibility in finding another company because there was a co-signer for my loan and I've been led to believe that person must always be insured on the vehicle.
I don't expect everyone to reply, but anyone want to throw me some numbers? and maybe some ideas for lowering my rates....I have a clean record, 18 yrs old. I'm going through Safeco right now. I'm thinking the only way to get the co-signer off my policy is to build hella credit and re-finance the car without his name.
Second, I'm trying to find out what the scope of "comprehensive" insurance is. For instance, I've been told they cannot raise your rates for a comprehensive claim
Say....someone poured sugar in your gas tank and the engine seized, or you hydrolocked it......will comprehensive pay to replace the engine? maybe dependant on your specific policy? and maybe....would they just cut you a check directly instead of paying the stealership, so maybe I could just pay the difference for an m3 engine? see what I'm getting at? Let me know what you think or if anyone has experience with this.
