I rode in a 323 last night...

I was so impressed.

It's probably because I drive a Civic, but I'm in love. Why does everyone knock on the car? The engine seemed powerful enough to make me happy.

Is the 330 so much different?

go to your nearest dealership and ask to test drive a 330ci or 330xi if they have used ones (broken-in) or try for a 330i Performance if they have one, you'll be blown away compared to the 323.

Be careful. If you loved the 323i, you'll explode if you drive a 330i.

I'd definately consider the the new 325 over the 99-00 328. The old 328 only has 6 HP on the 325, if that's it other than a few conviences.

owned them all. 323ci is powerful coming from a civic. it's a well balanced car. But ifyou drive 330ci for a day or two then you will feel the 323ci inadequate. :-(
but overall the 323ci is not bad at all. people knock on anything. they just need things to talk about...

I just noticed that looking at certified pre-owned BMWs, makes all the difference in the world.

I have been looking for full warranty information; I know it's 4/50K, but what about the other warranties such as corrosion, etc?

Oh...the only thing I did not like about the car was the gunmetal/metallic interior strip piece on the dash. It looked cheap to me, do the new versions come with that? I'd rather have the fake wood look.

Yeah, when i drove teh 325xi recently while i was looking to purchase, I thought it had enough power for me. I KNEW that if i tried to drive the 330xi I'd be done for. Luckily, I found a used 330xi for $25800 with 40k on it! It was well worth the 300+ mile drive to Chicago from Cincinnati!
