i'm thinking about buying it they want 6400 but i told the guy i'd bring 5500 down next week
it's green with tan leather 5 speed new clutch but has 160k on it should i even bother buying it because of the miles or what thanks

Been a long time - you should have stopped by the Autocross today and chilled for a few.

As for the car, well, a properly maintained 325i should be good for 200,000 miles, but there are certain things you want inspected at that high mileage. I would suggest having a leakdown and compression test done, along with the rear subframe inspected (!!!)....I am sure that others can advise on other potential problem areas as well.

What exactly are you looking for in a car?

A '92 325 with 160K miles isn't the best car I can think of to get, especially for that kind of money.

Can't really give you any other thoughts without more details on what you are looking for in a car, what your plans are for the car (if any), what your budget is, etc.

man, I would get a Honda or something for that price. I dont think its worth it for a 325 personaly. If anything either save up for a better deal or look for a diff car.

Look for repair records
If you can get it inspected I'd highly recommend it. Check the rear trailing arm bushings (RTABs). It's a bit of a pain, but if they've not been changed I bet they're done. Check the rear shock mounts (RSMs) these tend to go at about 30-80k miles. Radiators usually last 90-110k before the necks break.

Besides that they're tough cars. Anything I missed?

Never... ever... buy a car without all records from the current owner and at least a couple from the previous owner(s). The more records the better... and yeah make sure you get a prepurchase OR state inspection.

i'm buying it from a used car dealer that deals with european cars and i'm thinking of just staying away from it and look for a better deal but i might take it for a test ride and get it checked out from top to bottom
