| E28M5 gets my vote.... but I would rather have Rob livinstons old E28 M3 than the euro spec one you mentioned

| I think that this is an extremely tough question. I like the fact of a black/tan e28 M5 to match my black/tan e30 325is. Then again, after seeing that movie Ronin, hands down that car had the most beautiful exaust note. E34's are bigger and probably 500lbs. heavier, but I like them just as much. Also, weren't e34 M5's utilizing some special "nurinbring" suspension package? I for one would take an e34 m5 touring and call it a day, even if it cost me so much money that I'd end up having to live in it. Those are rare examples that flat out haul.

| E34 is far a better and modern car than the E28 is... as it should be. E34 gets my vote. ........And E39 gets my heart ![]()

| E28 is one of my top 3 favorite BMW's of the modern era. THE definitive fast 4-door with handling to match. No question E28. But the euro spec 3.8L E34 is tempting.

| Although the E34 is the more modern of the two, the E28 evokes memories of my uncles old Bavaria. Driving in the Bavaria as a kid is why I own a BMW today, my vote goes strongly toward the E28!! Its classic BMW in one its best forms!!

| E28 is still THE definition of a performance mid-size sedan that engineers still try to duplicate. No other incarnation of the ///M5 has matched its versatility/handling performance spirit. Thats a fact. Its the standard in the compromise between comfort and performance, hands down.
