E46 bi xenon upgrade question!!!

i have a 1999 328i with regular halogen lights. would a 2002 bi xenon headlamp fit or work with my car? or do i have to get the 99-01 non bi-xenon headlamps? anyone know the answers to this?

I know your post is old but don't know if you've ever gotten an answer. Anyhow, I have a '00 328i w/o xenon's and am planning on upgrading to the BI-xenon headlights (from a 2002 E46). People say that the Bixenon feature can't be turned on in prefacelifted E46's, but I don't think they have examined the wiring. Of course it's not plug and play if you want Bixenon because you need to rewire the harness that controls the "eyelid" for the high beams. I've taken apart my bixenon headlamps and examined the wiring. It looks like it should work. I'll update you as soon as I find out.
