| I got a 1996 328is for my first car. It is not like i didn't work at all to get this car. I have worked my ass off. This probably won't convince you but i really don't have to. The question is: Are you jealous or happy for us? Vince has a brand new m3 and other kids on this forum are getting the same car. Why can't our parents buy us something if they have the money to share. I wish everyone could afford BMW's but that will never happen. I am probably going to get yelled at for my response but this is how i feel. Am i wrong for thinking this? My car is no where near as nice as Vince's and other kids on this board, but i am happy that they get to experience great cars and learn how to drive. Anyone agree with me? |

| I think someone is very bitter ![]() Seriously, tho. I understand we can hate on these people all we want...but some of it is jeolousy. There are cases for both sides. I'm 19 with an M3. My first car was a '90 minivan...that's where i learned all my driving...and i agree that a kid shouldn't be given a sports car as their first car. It's just better because everyone messes up and i would rather mess up a p.o.s. van than my m3. But, also, don't forget that there are some 16 year olds out there that race and will spank all over your driving skills. I wouldn't give my kid a brand new m3...or even a new car for that matter. Regardless of money or anything else, it just lets a kid drive better because they can relax a bit more and screw up w/o destroying a new car. Problem is, anyone of us would've taken a brand new m3 when we first drove...would it have been good...probably not. Those kids are lucky and more power to them for having such a cool car. Now, if the kid is a prick, then you can hate him for being a prick. But don't hate someone just because they have more $$ or are more $$...that's just being a crybaby. Unless your Bill Gates...someone else is always gonna have more money than you ![]() |

| Do i sense some jealousy? I got my '93 325i for my first car, 2 years ago, and yes it is all about trust, and working hard for it, in school and in life. I think my cars are well deserved ![]()

| the sad thing isnt that they get the cars, but that they abuse them, Ive seen soo many new m3s at the junk yards...these cars arent kidding around. its a very fast and dangerous toy if not used properly.... then there are the kids who sit there and burn their tires, so daddy will buy them new ones ![]() |

| Wanna see my BMW when I was 16?? ![]() Had it till I was 17... stripped the trim off, wet sanded the whole thing, had it painted. 6 months later, rolled it doing about 70 mph off the side of an offramp. "Oops!" And THAT's why I bought another BMW. Was a 15 year old car, no airbags, flipped and rolled, and still saved the lives of all 3 occupants. In face, we all walked out without any injuries whatsoever. Wear your seatbelts, kids... |

| im 18 and have a 98 323 but in no way was it handed to be i have 57 more payments left at 400 bucks a month... and i pay for it the parents help me out with insurance but none of u can say oh dad no i want a 1988 POS as my first car instead of a hot m3 the only thing i would worry about is giving a 16 year old that kinda power.. we all drive like morons at 16 god knows i did but i have a 93 explorer sport no that was slow topped out at 85 90 if it was downhill b/c it would be a shame to see that beautiful machine wrapped around a poll and god forbid the kid hurts himself b/c hes going alittle to fast in the rain... learn to drive first (i know u probably think u do we all thought that at first) its alot better to make a mistake in a slow car then a fast one... just my 2 cents |

| I was 16 when I got my 2001 330i and it was my first car. My parents both know that I'm responsible, do very well in school and that I'm a good driver. They said the second I become arrogant, stuck up, too cool for everyone because I have a bimmer, it would be gone. I havent been like that and I never will. I'm soooo greatful for my car and my loving parents. I treat my car like a baby and every second i get to sit in it and drive that beauty, i think of how lucky i am.

| My Story When i was 16 i wanted civic si. All i had to drive was my dads 80 Elcamino. Then i got a 83 Buick Riviera (big 2 dr car). My dad would not let me use the car when i wanted and i had to be in the house by (12) I got tired of hearing that shit. So i started working after school 1st job on weekends. That really sucked i had no life 5pm-3:30am. Then i was introduced to working at a comfort Inn. I worked all the time even made extra hours. I saved up for the year and 8 months i worked there. i bought my self a 94 Integra. I tricked that car out. Around October i traded my car in on a 99 chevy Blazer. I wanted to stop racing and get out of the whole scene. On the search for another car when i had my Integra. I came across a 95 M3 Turbo charged 13k. I wish a thousand times i went and bought that car. I miss racing soo much. Now back to the topic: I like the idea that i worked for my own car and now i throw that in my dads face. IF my parents would have the money to buy me a car i would except it and i would not have acted like a prick like some 16 year olds. Now i am partly grown up and attending college to get my E46 ///M3. I don't disrespect anyone on this board who is young and recieved an M3. Most of the guys are cool like (DJ FALCO, Vince) For some of the dumb asses with M3's taking a 30mph exit ramp turn at 90mph and haven't experience the limits of there car. They are stupid. QUESTION: Would i buy my kid a expensive car (M3, 911 CLK, etc) ANSWER: YES Reply: He would be attending driving school and i would teach him how to handle a car.
