| Introducing Self Hi I just joined my name Dionese is one of the many ways to spell the name. the real name is Dennis, a diminutive of Dionysus. Bet you did not care. You should dionysus was the god of wine and song. Any way I have owned a BMW since 1976 when I bought a 2002ti. I have had a total of 23 of them. Today I own a 1996 328ci, 1992 535ia, and a 2003 530ia. The 535ia is heading to the parts bin with 559,000 on it. The rust is too much, the engine and exhaust have never been touched, except for the tappet adjustments. I has been the cheapest car I have ever owned, a bought it Brand new fully loaded. The E34 might have been their best build ever. It will cost more than $7,000.00 to restore so I am going to invest in another BMW. I am on the search of a 330it but can not find one anywhere. My other vehicles are bikes and boats. Years ago I sold my BMW bike which I still regret. One bike custom made by me I have owned for thirty years, 1953 Triumph Thunderbird. Ford actually bought the name of Triumph. The mods on the bike are too extensive to list and it is the wrong forum. I hope i can be of some help to you all. My absolutely favorite BMW is the 1936-1939 328. I have a 1/18 and a 1/43 model of the Mille Miglia 328 cause I don't have the 1M+ to buy one. My dream car is a fiberglass 1938 328 body on a E46 M3 driveline. Love to surprise a couple of Corvettes.Speaking of Chevys, we always were a family of Chevs and BMWs. The 328ic arrived when I sold my 1991 Vette. I loved Chevys but they kept shipping #%^ to me. The last was a Blazzer. The Blazzer tranny craped out 143,000 K after regular filter and oil changes. The 535 tranny gave up after 429,000 cost less to fix and both trannys were made by GM. The tranny in my Vette and the 535 were both made in the same factory, same model! It never gave out but everthing else feel apart on regular intervals. Last edited by DIONESE : 09-11-2009 at 10:09 PM. |

| The shocking part of the 559,000 on the old 335 is that the engine is ready for another car. It does not burn old. Runs smooth still seems to have its Horses. I checked the cam for sharp edges, none. I replaced the cam chain just cause I couldn't believe it had not broken. I have all the bills 4 sets of spark plugs, three rear rotors pairs, 5 for the front, Tranny rebuild, new rad, two water pumps, one drive shaft and seals, sway bar pins, rear rubber suspension parts, two sets of front shocks, one set for the rear, a starter, an alternator, and one heater fan. I found out how not to warp the front brakes on this very heavy car. The key is to torque the bolts on the BBS rim exactly the same. I have used two sets of Brembos with great success. What killed the car for me is rust where the shock towers attache to the frame. Regular Castrol High Milage Oil, Tranny filters and flush, rear end oil changes. The E39 I currently drive is a great car, but the E34 I feel was a better car. My wifes three is alot of fun so when I find an nicely set up 325it it is going to get a full OEM M3 body upgrade. and when I find a 330 in the wreckers I will grab the the drive line out of it. I read in an American BMW mag about a Asian chap whom built a M3 touring which I would kill for. |
