Sulfur Hexafluoride

soo umm. i have a theory. i was unable to find ANYTHING directly related to Sulfur Hexafluoride (also called anti-helium) and the internal combustion engine.

i did a little research (just a little), and found that its an inert gas. because it travels sound vibrations very slow it causes them to be percieved as very low pitches.

Because its inert, it would not combust, and would not cause any problems with the catalytic converters. It may take the place of some air per combustion cycle but that would only cause the engine to run rich which is not life threatening bad (most cars run rich anyway, especially under WOT to cool the combustion chamber and to make absolute sure the engine does not run LEAN).

when the gas does finally come out the end of the exhaust because it is so dense and doesnt transmit sound vibration as fast, it would cause the exhaust tone to be REDICULOUSLY deep.

It is usually sold as a liquid, under pressure (about 350psi). if you were to put it into a nitrous setup (nitrous systems can run 1000psi+) as a very small shot, (dry or wet i am unsure) it would make the exhaust tone RLY deep for as long as it was sprayed.

thats my theory. again, i was unable to find anything related to the topic. mayb i missing sumthing big here, and would like any thoughts. mayb this is already proven wrong and im a dumbass, but id thought i would throw it out there. if it is a valid idea, ill find a beater(non BMW) to try it on.

and yes, i have been drinking.

Why lose the power?

Inject it into the exhaust system.
