What is a 95 M3 S50 full engine swap worth?

Hey guys,
I just picked up a 95 M3 s50 engine. Full engine with ECU and everything. I'm wondering what this is worth and thinking about dropping it in my 328i. Hmmmm.. What do you guys think about swapping a 90k mileage 328i engine for a 120k mileage s50. Is it worth the effort considering the 30k extra miles?

Honestly I think it depends on your plans for the car. If you want to build a fun track toy than yes. If you are doing it to a daily driver than no. Especially since you have an e46 m3. Just seems like a lot of money to spend on something that really isn't that much of a power increase.

Yeah, i was leaning towards not doing it mainly because my 328i has been a very reliable car and the engine swap would probably make its reliability questionable. So, what are these engines worth? I'm going to post it up on ebay or craigs list but i have no idea what to post it up for.

I don't know what the going rate is for those engines anymore. I would search and see what similar ones have sold for.

I would say somewhere between $3,500 and $4,500.

12K alone in parts for the S50 motor. So figure that in with the price of the car.
