| no, it was a manual trans. It did have a ton of miles on it so I'm sure it wasn't putting out the power it did driving off the lot. I think I just expected more. I wasn't full on racing it. Just tooling around. I'd still take an E30m3, or even an E30IS with a 4.10 diff swap over it any day. The only way I could go wrong is if something came up I wasn't expecting.

| I doubt that. I've driven 5.0's, MR2's, RX7's, maybe this M3 just had burnt rings, or the head was cracked, or the gasket leaking. HE bought it for $3,000 if that gives you an idea.. It just didn't blow my mind away like it should have. I actually chose to drive my 86 ETA to drop these kids off over his M3. It would definitely be a nice car if it was all buttoned up, with new shocks/ struts, sway bar mounts/ bushings, and ball joints (which it definitely needed) but the power wasn't stuck to the seat like I was looking for. I could turbo my ETA at 1 bar and be more satisfied.

| no, I've never driven an E34. But I chose not to go for the IS.. I decided to stick with my original plan and buy all my parts as I go and install them in the winter months while I'm not working much or when I have free time. I've got my intake port matched and ready to go in. Bits and pieces for my exhaust including ported exhaust manifolds. Still saving for the turbo, I've got my spare head ready for the machine shop once I decide on the cam.. Still saving for I (1MM over size) valves, 3 angle valve job, dual valve springs, cam journal drilling. I want to convert to a timing chain, but haven't heard of anybody doing it. I've replaced all of the front suspension & steering components except the subframe & motor mounts which is next. Most of the rear is new except the subframe, subframe bushings and the semi-trailing arms. It's coming along nicely.

| If you drove an e30 M3 or e36 M3 and didnt like either then the car had some severe problems. All M3s are the best cars for thier decade. Try an e46 M3 and it will simply blow your mind at how fast it is and how insanely it can corner. If you don't like an M3 of any year it has something wrong. Seriously.
