Hello, e30 m52 conversion in California?

Hello,

I am new to this forum but not to cars, especially BMW's having had too many to count. Currently have a 1990 e30 4 door that the M20 is just worn out and time to be replaced. Living in California (outside SF) with the SMOG NAZI's limits what I can do to the car.

Anyone here live in Cali? I think under the CARB laws I can upgrade the existing M20 to a M52 as long as I keep all the smog components and cross my fingers.

no clue. i don't have smog regulations in arkansas. straight pipes and endless modifications here.

sorry bro' no idea...no prob in malaysia as within 30% from original cc's...but still can find the beast under the hood overhere...(e30 4ltr V8!!!)
