Need some help and advice please.

Hello, i am currently doing a project. i have a Bmw E30 2dr Shell and a Bmw M30 3.5 engine and manual gearbox removed from a E34 535i. now does the engine and box just slip straight in or do i need to make some alterations ie engine brackets etc.? also can i put carburetors (carbs) on the 3.5 if yes where can i get some from if anyone could give me web addreses or details that would be much appreciated.
If anyone has done this before could they tell me if i will come accross any problems and how to rectify the problem that would be great.

I wouldnt put carbs on the M30. That would be like gong back 30 years. The 3.0 had an earlier version of the M30 but carb'd. The M30 was an engine that was used from the early 70's to the mid 90's and is one of the most reliable/bulletproof in history. Now, the M30 has been swapped into the E30 body and it is heavily documented. Even BMW SF did it with the help of Alpina. I suggest reading the link that I send you. I hope I have helped.

hi dear,forget about carb's...just needs a bit mods on e30 m20 MOTRONIC engine wiring and it can works on your m30! or go for aftermarket injection system...the engine and g/box should be no big prob...longshaft? in malaysia we also have BMW with Japanese powerplant! shamed to me though...

I say go fo the M20 engine or an M50 engine if you can find one cheap.
