Infraction for exhaust??

i JUST got a system U exhaust for my m3 and i was enjoyin it so much, and about a week since i got it installed, i get a freakn ticket! i've heard of fix it tickets but i duno if this is 1 of them. its a 27150(a)VCV section infraction n i gotta pay $10. the ticket says its for the muffler noise...now does this mean i HAVE to get it fixed and show a cop the thing fixed or i can just pay the $10 and just drive without revin too much ??

i would just pay the ticket and keep the ticket on you. You can kind of buy a couple days or whenever you are supposed to pay the ticket if another cop pulls you over show the previous ticket and explain you're in the process of fixing it.

i actually took a chance and showed another cop at the police station my car n even test drove it for him...trying not to make to much noise...and he laughed and said it doesn make that much noise n he cleared it...i still hav 2 pay 10$ tho

It sounds like a noise infraction ticket. Probably a 1 time ticket you get for making too much noise if and when you rev the engine. Kind of like getting a ticket for playing excessively loud music at night. It doesn't mean you need to get rid of your stereo. It just means you need to use it responsibly.

Dunno, but in Oregon, DEQ is using a db meter and any exhaust over 93db is failed automaticly. Never been pulled by a cop, but I ended up stuffing steel wool in the straight pipes around the corner from DEQ on my old E28. Went from 104db to 91db. PASS!

thats not as bad as one i got i was driving a buddys crx and got nailed for $745 he didnt have insurance and his exhaust was too loud luckily the judge let me off for $45 i told them i was just test driving it

i don't think i've ever had that problem in arkansas. i live in a city where cops are unbelievably easy though. as long as no one is in immediate danger and you're not having an attitude, they're pretty cool.

Fight it and ask them to prove how the pig could decipher if it was above the legal dB level. Does he have the hearing of a dog? Or perhaps an implanted dB meter in his brain? How about if he could tell if the exhaust wasnt OEM?
