| s54 vs 2jz or 1jz motors in a e36 M3? hi everyone, wuts shakin? My S52 motor was so stong until it couldnt hold it anymore and blew up.. now i can see the internals from side of the block..not good I know... so should I JB weld the block and keep goin? i wish could though... So I've been looking for a motor now and found couple of options either an S54 motor which is a complex to istall because of its "uniqueness" the fly by wire, dual vanos and EWS, and much more sh** that makes it hard to install unless I go with Motec which is Big$...
What about the JZs? anyone have an experience with complexity on a 2JZ or 1JZ install into a e36M3? I have no idea bout 2jz install what it needs: stock or stand alone management system? or how is toyota motor wired to a bmw? as I understand 2jz have front and rear oilsump. s52 or s54 both(rear) have oilsump near the transmition. any one know if will have trouble with my subframe or rack and pinion if I dont find 2jz with a rear sump like an s54, is 2jz much taller than s52... OR any other suggestions on which is a harder install S54 or 2JZ please post them. THANKs very much ur comments are appriciated.
