| Don't let the res. Run dry! Trust me, I learned the hard way. and yes the clutch, and brake res. is the same thing. Go buy new brake bleeder valves! They're like 4-5 bux a pair, and will probably be a pain to get out if it hasn't been done in a while. I had to use a small butane torch, and vice grips to get them to turn on my 85 eta.
and it depends where the leak is. Seeing as how your still at the minimum in the res. something is probably just a little loose. If you had a leak in the line itself you wouldn't have anything in there. I would just snug down the brake lines coming off the master cyl. you'll see it under the resivoir, and one coming from the res. itself. While your taking the wheels off to bleed the system take a look around where all the connections are and see if you can find any brake fluid. there's a single line that runs along the driver side and up ontop of the differential, then splits to the rear wheels. the two front head off the master cylinder. If it's still squishy after you check everything chances are somebody let the res. run dry, and you'll need to bench bleed the master cyl. |
