well unfortunatly the car was an automatic and also was shifting irraticly during the test drive, motor was strong though that was the best part of this car. It has been lowered about a half of an inch all the way around, which scraped the speed bump I went over. The roof had several large dents, the passenger fender had a horrible attempt at bondo and paint the hoods clear coat looked like it was about to start coming up and I really didn't like the front E46 front bumper. He replaced those parts because he hit an animal on the highway.... the headlights I did like, HID still looked pretty close to stock though. The taillights were some rice rocket looking things which I really didn't like at all. So overall it was definatly a honda guys attempt to modify a already great looking and performing car. The hunt continues.......

Its all good, I did the same thing! Yeah he told me it was a 5spd but neglected to mention a auto5spd... that and it was worth no where near what he was asking, it needs about 5 grand worth of work just to make it be able to sit next to a factory m3. Thanks for the support, I have been looking for a long time now too.... I can't just jump on the first one I come across cause I plan to keep it forever so I have to be happy. Let me know if anyone comes across a e36 m3 thats clean and low mileage and a STANDARD transmission!

Keep your eye out. I agree with not jumping on the first one. Make sure you will love it, and can feel comfortable working with it. There is a guy selling a damn nice one on the autotrader for around 8500. It is white, and looks nice. That is also a 5 spd standard. I dont do autos.

It's to bad you are on the east coast because I know California is littered with E36 M3's for under $10,000. My friend just sold his 95 with 140k and tons of extras for $7500. The buyer was a good friend and fellow track junkie so he did get a bit of a discount but not much. Just keep on searching and you will find the right car.
